X-MAN Disease Models

X-MAN cell-lines exactly recapitulate the genetic mutations found in diseases such as cancer and also provide a perfectly matched reference normal genetic background to determine the effects of that gene on the cells’ function and its responses to appropriately targeted agents.

A key feature of X-MAN models over older cell-based cancer models is that because one knows exactly which gene is being altered and studied, significant costs in time and reagents can be made by avoiding ‘confirmatory’ secondary assays:

The research of new drug targets and treatments is greatly benefited by having a cellular-model that recapitulate what is seen in patients. The data below is representative of the comparison of models generated via retroviral over expression and endogenous gene alteration and illustrates the importance of accurate models.
