Horizon is recruiting a Senior Business Development / Sales Manager to contribute to its further growth in Europe. This key role will establish new collaborations for Horizon’s Discovery Services Division. The candidate will also have management responsibility of Horizon cell line products business in Europe and will work closely with members of the European cell line products sales team. The position can be located in the UK, Germany or Switzerland and will report to Horizon’s Vice President, Sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing business centered on Horizon's target identification platform SyntheTx™ which sees convergence of three powerful technologies:
Deploying X-MAN™ cell lines in cell-based synthetic lethality screens enables the identification of putative patient populations that exhibit downstream genes/proteins that represent novel targets of therapeutic intervention.
Along with driving the novel Target ID collaborations the role will also involve helping to sell Horizon’s Cell Line / Custom Screening Services. Horizon has further coupled its isogenic cell line library with our understanding of cancer biology and the tumor microenvironment, along with siRNA libraries and automation systems to be able to offer a range of screening approaches and assay conditions suitable to meet the requirements of almost any project. Horizon’s screening panels have been designed to enable customers wishing to use Horizon’s isogenic cell lines to probe the effect of their compounds against patient-relevant cancer mutations.
Business Development is a key role for Horizon and the selected individual will be part of the Global business development / sales team and will be responsible for the European business development activities for Drug Discovery Services. Candidates must be able to drive short-term revenue and build long-term relationships. The individual should have a proven track record in sales within the contract research sector serving the pharmaceutical and biotech market and understand the requirements of drug discovery. They should have the ability to manage and fully integrate with Operations and Marketing and follow-up to expand relationships and business opportunities. Candidates should have proven ability to identify and develop sales leads, professionally present capabilities and manage the sales process.
Skills and Abilities:
Home based role and requires frequent travel in Europe.
